BUYER BEWARE - Do not submit an application for finance unless you're in person. Even if you've talked to a salesperson and agreed on numbers. They will run your credit, get you all approved, and then sell the vehicle out from under you. First dealership I've ever dealt with that acts like this. No professional courtesy whatsoever, no integrity. They don't care about doing what's right. Just what's right in front of them. UPDATE (after their BS response): They only informed me of their "policy" AFTER the credit was run and car was sold (and I can prove it). Yes he told me "someone is coming in to look at the car, this afternoon" and that's why they couldn't budge on the price. He didn't say first come first serve or even that they will wait until after that to sell it to me! They knew full well I wouldn't be able to come in that day, if they intended on selling to the person coming in before me then do the right thing and wait to run credit, or inform me that's the intention. Again, NEVER worked with a dealership that behaves like this, I've done plenty of out of state deals.
Dealer Response
Thank you for sharing your feedback, Brian. We understand your frustration and want to clarify what happened. When we spoke on Sunday, our sales team was transparent from the start—we informed you that we had another interested party and that they might come in that day to move forward with the purchase. We were upfront about our first-come, first-serve policy because we only have one of each vehicle in stock, and we can't hold inventory without an in-person commitment or signed paperwork. It turned out that the interested party we mentioned did return and completed their purchase. You're located in Utah, and we're in Sacramento—a significant distance that would require travel time to complete the purchase. Meanwhile, the local customer who had already test-driven the vehicle returned that same day ready to finalize their purchase in person. We communicated with you throughout the process and never misled you about the situation or the vehicle's availability. We genuinely wanted to work with you, which is why we proceeded with the credit application at your request. However, we cannot hold vehicles for remote inquiries when we have qualified buyers ready to purchase in person—that wouldn't be fair to customers who take the time to visit us or to our business operations. We're a family-owned dealership that prides itself on transparency and professionalism. We were honest with you from the beginning about the competitive interest in this vehicle. We wish the outcome had been different, but we stand by our communication and our business practices. We wish you the best in finding the right vehicle.
